About Us

The Roller Skating Federation of India (INDIA SKATE), established in 1955, with the Office of the General Secretary located at D.No. 30-5-24/10, Krishna Gardens, Daba Gardens, Visakhapatnam – 530020, Andhra Pradesh, India, has been affiliated with World Skate, the world governing body for roller skating, since 1971. R.S.F.I. is also a founder member of World Skate Asia since 1978. The federation received recognition from the Government of India in September 1990. National Championships are conducted for the age groups of Cadet, Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior, and Masters (Men & Women) in the disciplines of Skateboarding, Artistic Skating, Speed Skating, Inline Freestyle, Roller Freestyle, Roller Hockey, Inline Hockey, Inline Downhill, Inline Alpine, Roller Derby, Roller Scooter, and Skate Cross. Roller Skating is also part of the All India University Games, SGFI Nationals, CBSE Nationals, KV Nationals, and ICSE Nationals. The Indian team currently ranks overall 2nd in Asia. Roller Skating was included in the 1992 Summer Olympics as a demonstration sport and later became a medal event in the 2010 Asian Games, the 3rd Beach Asian Games 2012 in China, the 2017 Summer Universiade, the 2018,2023 Asian Games, and the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. The Indian team has achieved 2nd and 3rd positions in Asian Championships. Roller Skating was a medal event in 36th National Games, and also a medal event Asian Games, World Games, World University Championships, and Youth Olympic Games.
